Jewellery has always been very expensive. But some of them are estimated to be worth a fortune today.

Hope’s diamond

This blue-coloured diamond, mined in India in the 17th century, weighs 42.52 carats. Over several centuries, the stone has changed hands many times. The value of the Hope diamond is unknown, but it is insured for $250 million.

Inlaid panther

A unique panther-shaped piece of jewellery created by the House of Cartier is made of platinum and inlaid with diamonds, emeralds and onyx. It’s worth more than £4.5 million.

Heart of the “Kingdom necklace”

A large heart-shaped ruby weighing 40 carats completes this necklace, set with lots of diamonds. Such a piece is worth $14 million.

Aurora green diamond

This is the world’s largest green diamond, weighing 5.03 carats, sold for $16.8 million.

Patiala necklace

The necklace, created by the House of Cartier, consists of about three thousand diamonds (including De Beers, the world’s seventh largest mined diamond) and many rubies mined in Burma. The jewellery was stolen in the 1940s and then sold off piece by piece. Experts estimate the necklace may have been worth $30 million.

Blue Oppenheimer

This is the largest bright blue diamond in history, weighing 14.62 carats, sold for $58 million. The stone is embedded in a platinum ring. The jewellery is also set with white diamonds.

Cartier 1912 brooch

This pendant is made of four large diamonds set in two small brooches. The jewellery is complemented by a scattering of diamonds. In 2014, this pendant sold for over $20 million.

A bright yellow diamond weighing 100 carats embedded in a gold ring with a scattering of diamonds was valued at $16 million.

The wandering pearl (Peregrine)

The centrepiece of this jewellery piece is a pear-shaped pearl with a 500-year history. This jewel changed many owners over the years until it fell into the hands of a jeweller who incorporated it into a necklace, valued at $11.8 million.

This piece of jewellery comes in the form of two earrings, with an oval yellow diamond at its base. The pieces are valued at $11.5 million.

Patek Philipe Henry Graves Supercomplication pocket watch

This most expensive pocket watch in history, estimated at $24 million, features a complex design. This accessory supports 24 different functions. The watch took around five years to make.

Oval Ruby Jubilee

This is the most expensive stone in the history of auctions held in the United States, valued at $14.2 million. The ruby, which has an oval cut, weighs 16 carats.

“Pink Star” Diamond

The diamond weighing 59.6 carats (making it the largest such stone) was sold for 83 million rubles.

Heritage in Bloom necklace

The necklace, which includes 24 flawless diamonds, was valued at 200 million dollars. Such a high price is partly due to the fact that it took 11 months to make the jewellery.
